Supply Technician

Summary

About the Position: Uses automatic data processing, cataloging, maintenance, and disposal knowledge and ability to manage assigned supply systems and to provide supply and logistical support.

Duties

• Maintains operational support and responsibility for assigned supply system
• Establishes and maintains contact with key item managers for supply sources.
• Establishes and controls requisitioning objectives (RO's) and unique mission support levels.
• Monitors multiple automated inventory management systems to ensure users receive appropriate equipment and supplies, reviews requisitions, determines potential alternatives, and determines appropriate actions to be taken.
• Prepares financial reports to compare performance against programmed objectives.
• Develops plans to meet objectives resulting from policy or program changes.

One year of specialized experience which includes 1) utilizing an automated supply system to track inventory and 2) providing guidance to customers regarding policies and/or procedures. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06).
