Role

We are looking for a Software Architect - Java, API to join our team. This is a Santa Clara, CA role, reporting to the Sr. Director, Software Engineering in the Zero Trust Exchange department. We are looking for a dynamic and inspired individual who will support and assist in driving the visionary innovation of Zscaler over the next decade. In this role, you will have the opportunity to shape the future of Zscaler technology, especially within the Zscaler Client Cloud Platform. You will work closely with our executive team and lead a team to drive cutting-edge services into the industry.

• Take the Zscaler Client Connector Cloud service to the next level in terms of reliability, availability and scalability
• Be a key decision-maker for all things related to product architecture

What We’re Looking for (Minimum Qualifications)

• Demonstrated curiosity and active exploration of AI tools, with a proven history of integrating new technologies to enhance daily workflows and augment problem-solving
• 15+ years of hands-on experience in application development using Java and a Bachelor degrees in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or similar discipline
• Expert-level technical knowledge: Enterprise Java, OOP, OOA, systems architecture and RESTful APIs, Kubernetes, Microservices and related frameworks, relational and NoSQL databases, Hibernate, CI/CD (tools and processes)
• Hands-on experience architecting and supporting highly scalable cloud-based solutions like AWS, GCP
• Must have experience with designing and implementing enterprise-grade Security or Networking products
• Hands-on experience with JavaScript and jQuery, alongside knowledge of Security, Authentication/Authorization and encryption best practices

What Will Make You Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications)

• Proven ability to leverage AI technologies and workflows to drive measurable operational efficiency
• MS degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering preferred
• Experience with streaming data processing infrastructure and/or experience with identities and access management systems, like Okta, SAML protocols, and security services, alongside knowledge of OAuth, Privilege Access Management, and React.js

Zscaler’s salary ranges are benchmarked and are determined by role and level. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations and could be higher or lower based on a multitude of factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

The base salary range listed for this full-time position excludes commission/ bonus/ equity (if applicable) + benefits.

Base Pay Range $248,000 — $310,000 USD
